Sammanfattning

Detta forskningsprojekt behandlar bukhårsdjur (Gastrotricha), en liten grupp av maskformiga akvatiska ryggradslösa djur med marint ursprung. Bukhårsdjur finns över hela världen och är vanligt förekommande i det man brukar kalla för meiofauna. Ungefär 850 arter är kända. Projektet går mer specifikt ut på att kartlägga och beskriva den svenska faunan, men också på att utröna släktskapen inom gruppen. En bättre förståelse av hur de mikroskopiska djuren sprids mellan olika miljöer är också något som projektet behandlar.
