Responsibilities

Responsible for the national monitoring programme of harbour porpoise abundance and distribution, including assessment of trends and detection rates. Research on harbour porpoise ecology and impact of human activities. Expert advice to authorities on harbour porpoise management, including participation in working groups of international agreements and organisations.

Research field

Harbour porpoise ecology and impact of human activities, including underwater noise and fisheries. Passive acoustic monitoring. Conservation biology, with special focus on the Critically Endangered Baltic Proper harbour porpoise population.
