Leafy axis of Arctophyton gracile Schweitzer from the Middle Devonian of Spitsbergen (Spetsbergen), an island in the archipelago of Svalbard in the Arctic Ocean north of mainland Norway. Collected at the locality Gråhuken, a profile close to the shore at Wijdefjorden, by Hans-Joachim Schweitzer between the years 1961-1970. The specimen is figured in Palaeontographica B 123 (Schweitzer, H.-J.,1968).
