Environmental Monitoring

The Swedish Museum of Natural History possesses one of the world's oldest environmental specimen banks and is responsible for nationwide pollen forecasts, bird ringing, and genetic identification of unknown organisms. We monitor animal populations and have a specific responsibility for the state's wildlife.

Our long-term data series reveal changes in environmental toxins in nature and their effects on ecosystems. This highlights threats to the environment and serves as a crucial resource for policymakers and researchers in Sweden and globally.
