I am interested in how terrestrial ecosystems have changed through time. My research is primarily focused on ancient vegetation dynamics during the Jurassic Period, an episode in Earth’s history that was characterized by a much warmer climate than today.
By using the extensive fossil record of spores and pollen, I aim to apply statistical analyses to track changes in the flora and landscape in high-resolution. To date, this work has centred on Jurassic sequences from the UK and the North Sea. Future research projects will investigate vegetation change across climatic events in Earth’s history to further understand the consequences of such events on terrestrial ecosystems.
