The flora from this site has been extensively studied by Holmes (1974, 1981, 1990, 1995) and is represented by a rich array of Glossopteris and Surangephyllum species, glossopterid scale leaves, several ovuliferous and polleniferous fructifications, seeds, and roots, together with equisetaleans (Phyllotheca australis, Lelstotheca robusta), ferns (Neomariopteris lobifolia, Neomariopteris hughesii, Cooyalopteris dimorpha), cordaitaleans (Noeggerathiopsis spatulata), and conifers (Walkomiella australis).
NRM has a small collection of samples from this site, mostly obtained by B. Lundblad in 1981. Fossils from this site are widely traded and can be found in rock shops around the world. They are often labelled “Mudgee" or “Cooyal" and are recognized by pale brown to pinkish leaf impressions on a pale grey shale matrix.
