Ordering of analyses

At the Center for Genetic Identification (CGI), we are passionate about biodiversity. CGI offers advanced DNA-based services to support ecological, agricultural and conservation research and monitoring.

Materials and analyses we work with

We work with a wide range of biological material, including environmental DNA (eDNA) from soil and water samples as well as material from plants and animals (e.g. tissue, bone, stomach contents, scat samples).

Using modern, advanced analytical methods such as metabarcoding, metagenomics and whole genome sequencing (WGS), we can provide reliable results in species identification, diet analyses and population genomics, in order to answer important biological questions of interest.

Type of Analysis

If none of the listed analyses are relevant to your project, select the "Other Analysis" option.

Analysis 1: Species determination - eDNA
Metabarcoding refers to the analysis of an organism group (multi-species analysis), for example fish fauna, mammalian fauna, amphibians. Metagenomics refers to shotgun sequencing. qPCR refers to the detection of specific species (single-species analysis), for example individual amphibians, asp the fish, and similar.
Analysis 1: Species determination - eDNA
Analysis 2: Species determination - Plant or animal material
Sanger sequencing refers to species identification using barcode analysis. Whole genome sequencing refers to extended species identification.
Analysis 2: Species determination - Plant or animal material
Analysis 3: Diet analysis
Metabarcoding refers to the analysis of an organism group (multi-species analysis), for example fish fauna, mammalian fauna, amphibians. Metagenomics refers to shotgun sequencing.
Analysis 3: Diet analysis
Analysis 4: Population genetics/Hybrid detection
Whole genome sequencing refers to the analysis of entire genomes for population genetic analyses, such as gene flow, diversity, structure, inbreeding, etc.
