About the library
The library contains approximately 15,200 books (including scientific journals), approximately 87,000 special editions and around 1,200 maps.
The library is divided in two parts for historical reasons, one for palaeobotany and one for palaeozoology. Literature on geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, etc., is also available. Much published material is nowadays available digitally, but the library contains 150-year-old publications that are of great importance to researchers.
Primarily, the palaeobiological library is open to the departmental staff and visiting researchers.
If you have any questions, contact the Head of Department of Palaeobiology, Vivi Vajda.
