What happens when young people get the tools and the power to explore and express their own stories? What happens in the encounter with nature? Exhibition shown to 16th of April 2020.
Nature in Me - young voices about nature, is an exploration of young persons' relationship with nature. During 2019, ARTmovement and Äventyrsgruppen ("Adventure Group") have brought together youths from different backgrounds to meet nature, as well as themselves, through the lens of a camera.

With the camera as a tool, and under the guidance of photographers Axel Öberg (Picture of the Year 2011), Jonathan Stenvall (member of Naturfotograferna - Sweden's foremost Nature Photographers), and Najeb Albakar (Photographer and Graphic Creator in advertising), as well as journalist Sumbu Temo, the participants have taken pictures that, in different ways, tell their relationships with nature. What happens when young people get the tools and the power to explore and express their own stories? What happns in the encounter with nature?
The different backgrounds and life stories of the participants is testimony that nature is present at hard times and can give a sense of calm and hope. As Sa-Ada tells with her picture:
- When I look at this picture I remember one day that was a turning point in my life. I went by boat from Libya to Italy, I remember every detail from that day, moment by moment. The fear of dying, the wish to see my family again, my dreams, my hopes, the darkness of the sea, the cold air, calm waves, the moonlight and the children talking in their sleep.
