The Under the Surface exhibition shows photographs of marine animals both large and small which live in habitats ranging from very cold waters to warm tropical seas. These pictures have been taken by thirteen underwater photographers, all members of Sällskapet för Undervattensfotografi (the Society of Underwater Photographers). The exhibition will be shown from 7 April to 10 January.
European flounder (Platichthys flesus). The european flounder lives on the sea bottom just like its relative, the european plaice. It can cross-breed. Photo: Anders Bergstedt
Peacock mantis shrimp (Odontodactylus scyllarus). I am a female prawn around 10 cm in length, and I "box" to death my prey with the aid of my forelegs. Can you see how much roe I’m carrying? Photo: Fredrik Ehrenström
