Temporary exhibition: SURR!

Peacock butterfly, buff-tailed bumblebee, green rose chafer, and honey bee. In the exhibition SURR! you could encounter some of the insects that pollinate our food, and the nature around us.

Small insects in large format! The outdoor exhibition SURR! consisted of around 30 eye-catching photos of our pollinators, photographed by Lena Granefelt. Here, you could learn about the different pollinating insects and what they need to survive. By the way, did you know that the blow fly is a forgotten pollinating hero?

The exhibition wanted to show that there are many pollinators, and how they interact with different plants:

“Bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies, beetles, honey bees, and flies all help with pollination. We are dependent on them because they pollinate our food and wildlife. That’s why we need to make sure they have enough food and shelter to survive and thrive” - Lotta Fabricius Kristiansen, Pollinera Sverige.

SURR! was displayed in the courtyard of the museum from 14 May until 25 September 2022.
