Department of Cryptogamic Botany

The Department of Cryptogamic Botany house collections of fungi, myxomycetes, lichens, algae, bryophytes and pteridophytes. Collections consists of specimens from all over the world collected from the 1800th century until now.

Scientist from institutions in Sweden and other countries regularly visits the Swedish Museum of Natural History to study the collections. At the departement systematic research is conducted.
