Expression, Personality and Emotion
Joe Zammit-Lucia is a world famous photographer. When viewing his images you are standing face to face with characters, personalities and the emotions of the animals that he portrays.
The exhibit closed 30 September 2012.
The exhibition consist of 38 images that are grouped in four themes: Individuality, Threat, Dignity, Determination and Survival.
Using the techniques of classical human portraiture, the artist creates a series of portraits of threatened or endangered animals. His aim is nothing less than to change the relationship between the human and the non-human animal. He believes that we can develop enough respect for animals to stop occupying or destroying the earth and the oceans around us with no consideration for the consequences for non-human life.
This traveling exhibit has been shown at the United Nations in New York and Geneva and is touring in museums and exhibit spaces worldwide. It is supported by the IUCN.
