Pride under the surface

Week exhibition on the biological riches and diversity of the oceans. On reproduction, transformations and love life beneath the surface. Learn cool facts and let yourself be swept along!

Illustration: Ilka Isaksson, Idea: Maria Bodin

Welcome to the Swedish Museum of Natural History, where we go deep diving and conduct research on diversity beneath the surface. The focus of this exhibition is on the rich variety of adaptations in the oceans. Come, be puzzled and delighted. Explore an exhibition that highlights exciting and fascinating facts. Did you know that barnacles are both male and female at the same time — or that shrimp change sex when they grow old? Come and look down into the fantastic world of the oceans. Take a close look at sea slugs. We zoom in for a perspective which perhaps you did not know was possible.

More on the display: Cool and unexpected transformations and reproduction strategies. Marvel at the love life of rockweed in the moonlight, and learn why fish ”dance”.

Collaboration between the Swedish Museum of Natural History and marine biologist Maria Bodin at Naturum Kosterhavet.
