Equipment

The Department of Zoology is responsible for the X-ray equipment and the TEM laboratory.

X-ray

Using X-ray one can for example study the skeletal structures of animals. Examples of other application areas is to find ammunition residues in animals as part of research on causes of death.

TEM

TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) is a microscopy technique that can be used for ultra thin sections of specimens to examine them on a tissue level. The Department of Zoology runs the TEM laboratory for sectioning and preparing the material. The microscopes are located on Stockholm University.
