Treasures from the earth's interior

See meteorites from far, far away, sparkling precious stones and minerals
in all the colours of the rainbow. Be captivated by the wonderful crystalline forms that nature has created. And understand how many items in your everyday life originate in the mineral realm.

A brief film introduces the subject. The cartoon character Kalle Kvarts provides explanations on display boards for children, who are invited to visit Kalle´s treasure cave to learn more about quartz - the Earth´s most common mineral. If you are looking for scientific explanations, there are several in-depth exhibits. You can also gain an insight into some of the projects carried out by the mineralogists at the Swedish Museum of Natural History.

No lift, stairs only

Due to an ongoing renovation of one of our exhibitions, Treasures from the earth's interior is accessible only by stairs.
