Artem Kouchinsky, research projects

Investigation of skeletal microstructures and fine morphology of the first biomineralizing animals of the Early Cambrian, their systematics and biominearlization mechanisms.
Calibration of first appearances of mineralized skeletons in animal groups with a refined carbon isotope chemostratigraphy.

My research is based mostly on material from the Siberian platform. I am currently working in collaboration with the Nordic Centre for Earth Evolution (Denmark) on connections between biological evolution and evolving chemistry of the Earth-surface environment.
