Yang Xiaoju is interested in Mesozoic fossil plants, especially compression fossils. She received her Ph D degree from the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. She is now based in Sweden for her postdoctoral studies on conifers of Cheirolepidiaceae, and Ginkgoales of Jurassic and Cretaceous.
