He is interested in the evolutionary relationships amongst seed-plants, especially with respect to understanding the origin of angiosperms. He has particular interests in the Southern Hemisphere Permian-Triassic floras dominated by Glossopteridales and Corystospermales. Stephen also has broad interests in the application of plant fossils to biostratigraphy, paleoenvironmental and palaeoclimate analysis, paleobiogeography, and the understanding of mass-extinction events.PublicationsPublications
