Courses and symposia
PRE-MAL and the Swedish Museum of Natural History arrange symposia, courses, seminars and workshops on Integrated Pest Management in Museums. The papers from the scientific symposia held in Stockholm 1984, 1993, 1998 are all published.Workshops were held in September 2000, May 2001 and March 2004.Since 2005 PRE-MAL arranges a national seminar on different IPM toppics. Two books have been published: - Åkerlund, M. 1991, "Ängrar - finns dom...?" [Dermested beetles - do they exist?] The book describes the biology of about 80 museum pest insect species. [From silverfish to health risk] A book on Intergrated pest management including risks for objects and health risks in museums. (In Swedish)- The Video film "Ängrar - finns dom...?" In the Research Department of Swedish Museum of Natural History, experts offer help to identify pest insects and give advice on pest control management.Through knowledge, watchfulness and perseverance we can minimise the damage!
