MSc Sofia University, Bulgaria, 1983
Ph.D. Geological Institute, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria, 1995
I participate in several research projects with the responsibility for sample preparation, microfossils separation, advanced microscopy, chemical and mineralogical analysis (SEM, EDS and XRD) and X-ray tomography work, including Avizo software application for interactive visualization and computation on 3D data sets. I also work with database registration of the department's collections.
After I finished my master's degree in geology-geochemistry I specialized in carbonate sedimentology and defend a PhD in the same field. Over the years I have worked on different projects and have more than twenty publications about carbonate sediments composition, structures, textures, diagenesis and microfacies analysis of limestones.
Over the last ten years I have been involved in three successive research projects all led by professor Stefan Bengtson and supported by the Swedish Research council:
In these projects I perform laboratory work, as well X-ray tomography microscopy and 3D reconstructions of microfossils found in stromatolites from Vindhyan basin (India), Doushantuo Formation (China), as well as in the subseafloor basalts in Pacific Ocean.
