I am a forest engineer investigating various aspects of woody plants.
Firstly, I am using dendrochronology to understand more recent climate developments in the East Mediterranean region.
Secondly, I am using plant macrofossils (mainly leaves) to understand how the climate and environment in the East Mediterranean region developed during the course of the Neogene (the past 23 million years).
At present I am working on some very rich early Miocene plant localities from Turkey.
